Tsara Komba Lodge or “TK“ is situated in the north west of Madagascar, to the south of the island of Nosy Komba (also known as lemur island), 25 minutes away from Nosy Be by boat. Nosy Komba is a superb island, taking the form of a former volcano today covered with a luxuriant primal forest. Its gentle breeze, its bird songs and the crashing of the waves make this an unforgettable paradise surrounded by a turquoise sea and dotted with fine sandy beaches. At the Tsara Komba Lodge, the only way to travel is on foot, by pirogue or by boat. Nestling in the heart of a breathtaking tropical garden spanning several hectares, the highly authentic Caring Luxury Ecolodge hotel **** is comprised of just eight lodges, which blend in perfectly with the outstanding unspoilt natural environment, guaranteeing an intimate and cosy setting for guests.

Built on a hillside, nestling in a tropical garden between the forest and the beach, the lodges and the verandas boast an outstanding view across the bay for a sunny start to the day and a colourful end to the evening. The abundant vegetation surrounding your lodge offers all the obvious benefits of cool and shaded surroundings.

The lodges are extremely comfortable and attractive. They are magnificently constructed in a streamlined architectural style, from wood and traditional materials such as rosewood or sohihy, in shades of brown and subtle complementary tones. The roofs are thatched with Ravinala leaves (from the Travellers’ tree) and are high enough to allow air to circulate freely!

Nestling on a hillside in the heart of a stunningly beautiful setting situated between the forest and the beach, the lodges and their front porches all enjoy an amazing view across the ocean, where you can tuck into a delicious breakfast watching an incredible sunrise or a colourful end to the day with a dinner under the stars. The leafy natural setting surrounding your lodge protects your privacy while at the same time bringing you all the benefits of its cool shade.

Life in a lodge is unbelievably relaxing. Superbly produced, featuring a slender architectural style making extensive use of wood and traditional materials such as rosewood or sohihy, the warm brown shades and subtle highlights of your lodge make this the perfect place to unwind. The roofs produced from Ravinala trees (also known as the “Traveller’s Tree”) offer excellent natural ventilation. Each lodge has its own character. The furniture and decorative items have been obtained from Madagascan antique dealers, artists and craftsmen, with the result being a subtle combination of ethnic character and modernity.

Just a stone’s throw from your lodge, you’ll find the magnificent beach where sun loungers are laid out on the golden sand or under the shade of the palm trees. You can enjoy a peaceful walk along the translucent waters so perfect for bathing and ideal for gently recharging your batteries. The private nature reserve offers some memorable strolls, during which you can admire the numerous species of flowers and trees, but also the lemurs, chameleons, hummingbirds and butterflies.

Style and luxury combined with warm, natural, high quality materials. The warm hues of the exotic wood varieties, the shades used to colour the walls inspired by the rising or setting sun, and an infinite number of other colours all combine to produce an effect conducive to peace and tranquillity. The original, authentic furniture, tables and sculptures by Madagascan artists all give these premises an atmosphere somewhere between designer chic and a delicate, ethnic feel. The wide openings form a natural link between the interior of the rooms and the amazing natural environment outside.
The area is bathed in the delicate fragrance of the citronella and the vetiver from the adjoining garden.

The suite lodges include a bedroom with “King Size” double four-poster bed and a large mosquito net, a huge bathroom and a lounge equipped with two large sofas with mosquito net. The fine cotton household linen and honeycomb woven bathroom linen, produced in Madagascar, have been chosen with the utmost care and taste. Madagascan essential oils known for their health-related benefits are included among the hospitality products and are also available with a diffuser.
